Foundation for Appropriate and Immediate Temporary Help
A C T I V I T I E S   A N D   P R O J E C T S
Following activities and projects are currently planned or already underway. The services described are provided depending on availability of funds and volunteers:
  1. Promote Zakah (alms) collection through local campaigns.
  2. Educate Muslim on their Zakat obligations by distributing free publications.
  3. Issue regular Zakah forms.
  4. Receive Zakah payments from individuals and businesses.
  5. Issue tax exemption receipts for payments of cash and kind.

Disbursement:

  1. Receive Zakah applications.
  2. Arrange interviews with applicants.
  3. Provide assistance to qualified individuals and families.
  4. Help direct Zakah applicants to proper help-agencies.

SENIOR CITIZEN ASSISTANCE

FAITH provides the following services to assist the elderly:

  1. Visit senior citizen's homes on a regular basis.
  2. Maintain regular contact and offer assistance.
  3. Arrange transportation to places of worship and to social gatherings.
  4. Provide shelter to those who have no alternative housing.
ISLAMIC FUNERAL SERVICES

FAITH provides various funeral services including:

  1. Counseling for the families of the deceased.
  2. Instructing families on the process of proper Muslim funerals.
  3. Arrange for burials.
VOCATIONAL TRAINING

FAITH offers help with vocational training programs by:

  1. Coordinating with other area organizations which are already set up to provide such programs.
  2. Paying the training cost for elegible clients.
  3. FAITH also plans to arrange and conduct career related training programs.

TRANSITIONAL HOUSING

FAITH plans to establish a halfway house for the victims (women and children) of domestic abuse. The house will provide temporary shelter and support, while giving short-term job training, etc.
