Invest in the future!
The Shaping Young Minds youth program exists to provide a material, emotional and psychological support network for orphan, immigrant and low-income disenfranchised youth. We aim to build character, self-esteem and broaden perspectives through targeted activities. Our goal is to provide youth with tools to break the cycle of poverty, pave a successful future and be good citizens through age appropriate Rising Stars and Bright Stars branches.
The Rising Stars
1 – 11 Years Old
Activities are targeted towards development in language, social and emotional skills during formative years. A monthly book club,The Story Time aims to introduce the love of literature to an online generation. Parenting workshops aim to provide crucial support for stressed, low-income parents with young children. To supplement these developmental activities, field trips will provide a necessary dose of fun!
The Bright Stars
11 – 18 Years Old
Activities focus on motivating youth to pursue their academic and personal potential. A variety of topics such as creativity, diversity, community and mentorship will create a unique supplemental program for low-income, immigrant youth. By expanding a limited perspective, youth will be able to reach past the crushing cycle of poverty.
